Investigation underway after 70-year-old woman killed crossing street, troopers say

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — An investigation is underway following a fatal crash involving a pedestrian in Orange County.

Troopers said the crash happened Friday at 7 p.m.

According to troopers, the pedestrian was attempting to cross Aloma Avenue in a crosswalk at the intersection of Eastbrook Boulevard when she was struck by a passing car.

The car, which was traveling westbound on Aloma Avenue, failed to yield to the pedestrian, troopers said.

The 70-year-old victim was taken to the hospital where she was later pronounced deceased.

It is unknown at this time if any charges will be filed.

The crash remains under investigation.
