ORLANDO, Fla. — Deputies are searching for a suspect after a woman reported being shot at near the parking garage adjacent to the Orange County Courthouse on Wednesday.
According to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded around 11:25 a.m. following reports of shots fired.
When deputies arrived, they located a woman who said a person known to her had fired at her. Investigators said she was not injured.
Authorities said the suspect fled the area before deputies arrived and has not yet been located.
As a precaution, the courthouse complex was placed on lockdown while deputies searched the area and worked to determine whether the suspect remained on the property.
The investigation is ongoing, and officials said the information released so far is preliminary. Additional details are expected as the investigation continues.

Multiple sources have confirmed to Channel 9 that a shooting in the Orange County Courthouse parking garage is the cause of the large presence.

A large police presence was reported Wednesday morning at the Orange County courthouse in downtown Orlando. Channel 9 crews are moving to the active scene at this time.
Local law enforcement vehicles and officers were seen in and around the courthouse area. It was not immediately clear what prompted the response, whether there was any threat to the public, or whether court operations had been affected.
Authorities have not yet released details about the nature of the incident. There were no immediate reports of injuries, arrests or evacuations.
