Woman arrested after man shot inside restaurant in downtown Orlando, police say

ORLANDO, Fla. — Orlando police are investigating a shooting that happened in downtown Orlando just after midnight on Saturday.

According to police, the shooting occurred at 21 South Orange Avenue at 12:30 a.m. Police said a physical altercation happened inside a restaurant, and moments later the suspect pulled out a gun and shot the victim.

The victim, a man in his thirties, was taken to the hospital in critical condition, and is expected to survive.

Police said once they arrived they were quickly able to locate the victim and render aid. The suspect was also located and arrested.

Monique Nicole James, 32, was booked into the Orange County Jail and is being charged with attempted murder.

This is an active investigation.
