Central Florida woman killed after driver ran red light, troopers say

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly crash involving two vehicles.

The crash happened Saturday morning around 7 a.m. at the intersection of Old Winter Garden Road and Edgewood Ranch Road.

According to troopers, an Acura MDX was traveling eastbound on Old Winter Garden Road and a Toyota Corolla was traveling northbound on Edgewood Ranch Road.

Witnesses told troopers that the driver of the Acura ran the red light at the intersection, hitting the driver’s side of the Corolla.

According to troopers, the driver of the Corolla was pronounced dead on scene.

The driver of the Acura and a small child were transported to the hospital with minor injuries.

This crash remains under investigation and charges are pending against the driver of the Acura, troopers said.
