Deputies said Miya Marcano was last seen around 5 p.m. Friday at the Arden Villas apartments on Arden Villas Boulevard, near the University of Central Florida in Orlando.

On Sunday, deputies began searching the wooded area behind Marcano’s apartment building.

According to deputies, Marcano is 4′9 and about 130 pounds.

Investigators say Marcano lives on the complex, and the apartment’s social media shows she also works at the leasing office.

Channel 9 spoke with the family on Sunday who said they’ve been asked by law enforcement not speak to media because it’s an ongoing investigation.

However, Marcano’s dad did share a picture of her on social media stating “this was the shirt she was wearing when she was last seen — there were signs of struggle in her apartment — and she may be in danger”

Channel 9 reached out to the sheriff’s office to confirm if what Marcano’s father posted was true, and asked if this is a criminal investigation or a missing persons case.

Deputies said they can’t release any details at this time, but they’re working diligently to find her.
