Orange County first responders showcase new hurricane emergency equipment

ORLANDO, Fla. — Communication is essential for local first responders in any sort of emergency, but especially while hurricane season is underway.

Orange County deputies have teamed up with First Net Authority to showcase their new high-tech emergency equipment.

First Net is a special wireless network that is designed for public safety and first responders to have priority access during a crisis.

“A core network that stands on its own,” said Gulfport, Miss. Mayor Billy Hewes. “When times are tough for folks who are on the first net system. They have uninterrupted dedicated service that is supposed to be seamless, and that’s what we worked towards.”

The First Net Authority CEO said this will save lives as the network continues to grow nationwide.
