Man arrested in Orlando after allegedly attempting to meet 15-year-old girl following sexual conversations online

ORLANDO, Fla. — A man was arrested Thursday after having an online chat with a decoy posing as a 15-year-old girl quickly turned sexual in nature, according to Orlando police.

Daniel Bowling, 26, is facing about a dozen charges including obscene communication: travel to meet with a minor and attempted lewd and lascivious molestation, police said.

Bowling contacted a decoy posing as a 15-year-old girl via AdChat at the beginning of April. The conversations “turned sexual in nature within the first 24 hours and intensified quickly,” police said.

Bowling was arrested Thursday without incident as he arrived to meet up with the decoy.

“Unfortunately, there are potentially hundreds of predators like Mr. Bowling online,” said Jennifer Wing, who is assigned to the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. “I hope news of today’s arrest encourages parents to be more proactive in monitoring their children’s lives online.”
