ORLANDO, Fla. — An ex-girlfriend of Rep. Matt Gaetz entered an Orlando federal courthouse where a grand jury is meeting, alongside her lawyer on Wednesday, according to reports from CNN.

Since early 2020, Gaetz has been under federal investigation for possibly having sex with a 17-year-old girl and paying her to travel across state lines. Gaetz has denied the accusations and has yet to be charged with a crime.

CNN reported that a source familiar with the case previously said Gaetz’s ex-girlfriend, a former Capitol Hill staffer, was expected to testify before the grand jury investigating Gaetz.

CNN reports say the woman was linked to Gaetz around the same time period the alleged sex trafficking involving the 17-year-old girl happened in 2017.
