Salvation Army offering cold weather shelter, accepting blanket, coat donations

ORLANDO, Fla. — Anyone seeking shelter from the upcoming cold snap are invited to find a warm place to sleep at The Salvation Army.

The Salvation Army Men’s Shelter is located at 624 Lexington Ave. and the Women’s & Children’s Shelter is located at 400 W. Colonial Drive.

“No matter the circumstances, no matter the weather, we are here to serve those needing emergency shelter and assistance to transition from homelessness to stable housing,” officials said.

For those looking to help those in need through the winter weather, The Salvation Army is accepting donations of blankets, coats and socks. Items can be dropped off at 416 W. Colonial Drive in Orlando Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

For those not seeking shelter but in need of a meal, The Salvation Army’s soup kitchen provides a daily meal, served out of the Men’s Shelter, from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., 365 days a year.
