SEE: SeaWorld Abu Dhabi on track for 2022 completion

ORLANDO, Fla. — Miral, the company developing SeaWorld Abu Dhabi, said Wednesday that the project is on track to be completed in 2022.

Construction on the theme park on Yas Island is 64% complete, the company said.

The almost 2-million-square-foot indoor park will have five levels.

It will feature the world’s largest marine aquarium, which will contain 6.6 million gallons of water and house 68,000 animals, including sharks, fish, manta rays and sea turtles.

The aquarium will span six distinct, interlinked “realms,” and its focal point will be a 65 foot tall vertical window, the company said.

The development will also include the Yas SeaWorld Research and Rescue Center, the United Arab Emirates’ first marine research, rescue, rehabilitation and release center.

Yas Island is already home to Ferrari World Abu Dhabi, Yas Waterworld Abu Dhabi, Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi, CLYMB Abu Dhabi, a golf course, a mall, a marina and seven hotels.
