UPDATE: Deputies release identity of teen shot and killed in Orange County

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — Update:

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office has released the name of the victim that was killed in a deadly shooting on Friday night.

According to deputies, the victim is 18-year-old Shaniya Charles.

On Friday, Charles was found at the Castilian Apartments with a gunshot wound and transported to the hospital where she later died.

Deputies said they have no suspect information at this time.

An investigation is underway in Orange County following a deadly shooting on Friday night.

The shooting happened at the Castilian Apartments on the 1600 block of Holden Avenue, deputies said.

Deputies responded to call at the apartment complex at 11:10 p.m. in reference to a shooting.

When deputies arrived, they found an 18-year-old woman with a gunshot wound.

The woman was transported to the hospital, where she later died of her injuries.

An unknown person ran from the scene, deputies said.
