In addition to game day, there will be a kickoff luncheon and a Battle of the Bands at Amway Center on Nov. 18, featuring the FAMU Marching 100 and B-CU’s Marching Wildcats.

Larry Robinson, the president of FAMU, said the Florida Classic is more than just an athletic event. It’s also an expression of culture and showcases the importance of the two historically Black colleges and universities.

“The Classic provides opportunities to witness amazing performances of our marching bands, exposure to our world-class academic programs, and access to critical funding that supports both institutions,” he said.
