ORLANDO, Fla. — Tickets are now on sale for the 2022 Florida Blue Florida Classic Rivalry, featuring Florida A&M University and Bethune-Cookman University.

The game will be the 76th all-time matchup between the Rattlers and the Wildcats. It’s also the 43rd official “Florida Classic.”

“The annual rivalry between these two historic institutions is always a highlight of the year,” said Dr. Lawrence Drake, interim president at Bethune-Cookman University.

In addition to game day, there will be a kickoff luncheon and a Battle of the Bands at Amway Center on Nov. 18, featuring the FAMU Marching 100 and B-CU’s Marching Wildcats.

Larry Robinson, the president of FAMU, said the Florida Classic is more than just an athletic event. It’s also an expression of culture and showcases the importance of the two historically Black colleges and universities.

“The Classic provides opportunities to witness amazing performances of our marching bands, exposure to our world-class academic programs, and access to critical funding that supports both institutions,” he said.

Nearly 1.5 million fans have attended the Florida Classic since the game was held in Central Florida in 1997.

Florida A&M won last year, ending a nine-game B-CU winning streak.
