UCF police say pedestrian safety improving near campus

ORLANDO, Fla. — University of Central Florida police are reporting some encouraging news about safety on the roads near the campus.

Officers used a pedestrian detail Wednesday to focus on busy crosswalks.

Decoys targeted drivers who failed to yield.

Officers issued 38 warnings and 26 citations.

However, police said those numbers are a big improvement from the last detail earlier this year.
