Winter on the Avenue: How to celebrate the season in Winter Park

WINTER PARK, Fla. — The holiday season is getting underway in Winter Park.

The community will gather on Friday, Dec. 3, for the city’s annual Winter on the Avenue event.

The event, which runs from 5 to 9 p.m., features the annual tree lighting, strolling carolers, Chanukah menorah lighting, s’mores, snow slides, the announcement of holiday art contest winners, Popcorn Flicks in the park, and Santa and Mrs. Claus.

Santa and Mrs. Claus will be available for socially-distanced visits and photos until 8 p.m.

Popcorn Flicks in the Park will feature “Frosty’s Winter Wonderland” beginning at 7 p.m., followed by “The Santa Clause.”

Visitors can also enjoy free admission to the Charles Hosmer Morse Museum of American Art during Friday Nights at the Morse beginning at 4 p.m., as well as live music from 5 to 8 p.m.
