Orlando to launch study to determine its main sources of pollution

ORLANDO, Fla. — As part of its partnership with the Ocean Conservancy, the city of Orlando is launching a study to determine the city’s major sources of plastic pollution.

Officials said the groups will work with a team of scientists from the University of Georgia on the Circularity Assessment Protocol (CAP) study.

Officials said the study will help come up with ways for Orlando to reduce its pollution.

“It empowers the city to answer key decision-making questions such as how plastic is used and disposed of, what actions can be taken to change the way it’s used, how circularity can be increased and what waste ends up on the ground and ultimately in Orlando’s lakes,” organizers said.
