He’s currently near the Ukrainian border, making sure much-needed supplies get to the people who need them.

Just days ago, Kai Fusser was home in Orlando, following the latest on the conflict in Ukraine.

“(I) thought, ‘Why not ask some friends for a little donation,” he said.

The idea for donations started small, then snowballed. More than $20,000 came together, then he turned to GoFundMe.

Eventually, Fusser raised $45,000. But he wasn’t done.

He took that money and flew overseas.

He went to Munich and “raided” a pharmacy with a doctor, “got all the insulin we could get, got all the painkillers they have, a lot of first-aid-kits, trauma kits.”

Fusser is now in Slovakia, about 40 miles from the border of Ukraine, working on getting those supplies in the country, despite the border being closed.

“The first few days we’ve done it with private carriers, but several of them got shot at,” Fusser said. “Now … it’s basically a guarded convoy that goes in.”

He said they’re still collecting supplies. If you’re interested in donating, click here.
