ORLANDO, Fla. — Decorated trunks, Halloween treats and bounce houses are coming to the Orlando VA Medical Center in Lake Nona for a free community event Sunday.
The trunk-or-treat celebration runs from 1 to 3 p.m. Oct. 25 at 13800 Veterans Way. Veterans, their families and the public are welcome.
According to the Orlando VA Healthcare System’s event announcement, guests do not need to register, and costumes are encouraged.
What families can expect
The Orlando VA is hosting the event with Wounded Warrior Project and the Center for Development & Civic Engagement.
Activities will include decorated vehicles, candy, music, bounce houses and entertainment for all ages.
Organizers said the celebration will bring veterans, families, VA employees and community partners together outside the traditional health care setting.
While general admission requires no registration, anyone planning to host a decorated trunk or table must register separately through the VA’s event announcement.
Flu vaccinations also available for veterans
The VA also announced that its Mobile Medical Unit will be at the event, giving veterans an opportunity to receive a flu vaccination.
Additional information is available in the VA’s announcement about its Central Florida flu vaccination opportunities.
