Osceola County school year begins with new Superintendent in place

OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. — The new school year will begin with a brand new superintendent in Osceola County.

Dr. Mark Shanoff worked in both the Volusia and Orange County school districts before getting the top job in Osceola County last June.

Shanoff says he’s excited to get started.

“I just want everybody to remember that, with the new year, there comes a new partnership, and a great partnership between our parents, families and our schools,” Shanoff said.

Dr. Shanoff says the district still has work to do to close the learning gap caused by the pandemic, which will be a major focus for teachers in the classroom this year.
