ST. CLOUD, Fla. — Cypress Tree Trail in the Cypress Preserve community in St. Cloud has reopened following a washout caused by extreme rainfall.
The washout damaged a temporary repair completed earlier this month after heavy rain from a storm moving through the area affected the roadway. Crews closed the street while they made repairs and restored traffic.
Because of lightning in the area, crews waited for conditions to improve before beginning overnight work.
A contractor has been retained to complete a permanent repair on Cypress Tree Trail. That work is expected to begin within the next several days.
Crews are scheduled to return Thursday morning to perform additional repairs to the roadway.
