• Palm Coast woman loses $700 to Facebook scammers


    PALM COAST, Fla. - Investigators said a Flagler County woman fell victim to a Facebook scam involving a fake contest run by thieves with fake profiles.

    The 67-year-old Palm Coast woman was on Facebook when someone posing as a Facebook claiming agent said she won $50,000.

    Deputies said the woman sent $700 to claim her prize. She said the scammers asked for another $3,000, which is when she called deputies.

    There's no word on whether any arrests have been made.
