Pastor urges community to speak up after Ivey Lane shooting

ORLANDO, Fla. — Orange County investigators continue to look for the person they say walked into a convenience store Friday and gunned down a customer.

The shooting, which occurred at the intersection of South Ivey Lane and Gore Street, has spurred a movement to solve the crime.

Bishop Kelvin Cobaris came upon the investigation into the slaying of Antonio Smith, 22, while driving down south Ivey Lane on Friday.

“I was like, 'Oh, here we go again,'” Cobaris said.

At the shooting scene, he decided he needed to say something and launched Facebook Live.

"We can act like it's not an issue but it is and it's getting closer and closer to your doorstep," he said. “These criminals have no fear and the reason they have no fear is they know no one else is going to be bold enough or courageous enough to tell on them.”

Trying to change that culture, his online movement is gaining steam.

Cobaris says his social media conversations have now sparked plans for what he calls a “Solution Summit” to unite and empower the community.
