ORLANDO, Fla. — Orlando International Airport is adding more parking, easier terminal connections and new overseas flights — changes aimed at improving the trip before passengers ever board a plane.
The Greater Orlando Aviation Authority reviewed the projects Thursday, highlighting completed upgrades and plans still in the works.
More parking on the way
Two planned garages would add 8,000 public parking spaces. The airport also developed dedicated employee parking areas to free up more existing spaces for travelers.
A parking guidance system has been installed at Terminal C, with activation continuing in phases across all airport garages through mid-2027.
Drivers will also see updated road, garage and terminal signs to help them find their way.

Easier walks and places to recharge
An enclosed pedestrian bridge with moving walkways now connects Terminal C to the airport’s train station.
For families, three new Family Zones offer places for children to play, read and recharge.
The authority also launched its $40 million Beautiful Airports Program to improve safety, functionality and appearance across parking garages, terminals and airport grounds.
New gates and overseas flights
Terminal C expanded with a new wing serving Gates 250-254, now home to Virgin Atlantic.
International options also grew with ZIPAIR’s nonstop charter flights between Orlando and Tokyo and Iberia’s nonstop service to Madrid.
“Our responsibility is to elevate every part of the journey — making it more welcoming, intuitive and connected,” GOAA CEO Lance Lyttle said.
More investment at both airports
Orlando International’s other projects include a $50 million investment by dnata and a $26 million redevelopment by Lake Nona-based Signature Aviation.
At Orlando Executive Airport, which the authority also oversees, Sky Harbour broke ground on a $40 million campus.
The board also updated its Local Developing Business program and created a companion Small Business program for qualifying Florida businesses. Details will be posted on GOAA’s website.
