Barriner was taken to Waterman Hospital in critical condition and died several hours later.

Police identified the suspect as Jose Margarito Aguirre, 24.

Officers haven’t said how Aguirre and Barriner knew each other.

Residents in the area said the crime doesn’t fit Mount Dora’s image.

“This is now a bad place. Mount Dora is a very quaint town and everybody loves to come here,” said resident Jon Kurtz.

Police have a warrant out for Aguirre’s arrest.

The owner of the nightclub, who did not want to be identified, said the victim was a customer but the commotion and shooting happened outside of his business.
