Police investigate woman's suspicious death in downtown Orlando apartment

ORLANDO, Fla. — Orlando police are investigating the death of a woman who was found inside an apartment.

Police said they found the 27-year-old victim over the weekend at Uptown Place on North Orange Avenue.

Investigators are calling her death suspicious.

Sasha Samsudean lived on the third floor of the apartment complex.

Her neighbors, who did not want to be identified, said the incident left them frightened.

“It’s pretty scary. I saw the CSI van outside on the way to work, so it’s a little scary,” said a resident.

Police said Samsudean arrived home safely Friday night, but a detective said investigators are focusing on a time between 10 p.m. Friday night and 1:30 a.m. Saturday.

Police ask anyone who came across Samsudean in downtown Orlando to call police.

One resident said she heard a lot of activity on her floor.

“I heard some weird noises on the third floor the night it happened. Cooper, my dog, was barking. I’m not sure what happened, but I’m a little afraid now,” she said.

Samsudean worked in Internet marketing, and YouTube videos show her pitching nearby apartments.

Her friends couldn't contact her so police entered her apartment and questioned neighbors after finding her dead.

“The police just knocked on my door and asked me a few questions, but I hadn’t heard anything,” said a resident.

Samsudean’s cause of death hasn’t been released.

The Medical Examiner’s Office is not releasing information.
