Police: Man fatally stabbed at Daytona Beach bar

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — A man was fatally stabbed late Monday at a bar, the Daytona Beach Police Department said.

Christopher Keating was stabbed in the back multiple times during a fight at Crooks Den on Orange Avenue near South Beach Street, police spokeswoman Lyda Longa said.

"Upon arrival, it was learned that there had been a fight between suspected rival gang members," Longa said.

Although the fight was recorded by a surveillance camera, it’s hard to make out what happened, investigators said. The fight spilled out of the bar and onto a patio, police said.

Detectives said it’s unclear what sparked the argument, but they said they believe that Keating belonged to the Outlaws motorcycle gang and his attackers belonged to the Pagan motorcycle gang.

An unknown number of people escaped through the back of the bar, police said. They remain at large.

Keating was taken to Halifax Health Medical Center, where he died. His death remains under investigation.

Police did not believe Keating had a weapon at the time of the argument and stabbing.

Police said they’ll increase patrols in the area and other places frequented by bikers for fear that someone might seek vengeance.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 888-277-8477.
