The incident started when officers tried to pull over Trevon Lamons, 17, just after midnight on Jan. 16, police said.

Officers can be heard yelling stop four times during the video while Lamons revs the engine.

Despite the officers’ orders, Lamons continued driving. Officer Jonathan Mills fired four shots at the car when it appeared the boy was trying to hit the officers, police said.

Lamons was hit by at least one of the shots, but continued driving until he crashed into a vacant home, investigators said.

The boy was not seriously injured in the incident.

Lamons was charged with three counts of aggravated assault of a police officer, fleeing and grand theft of a vehicle.

Officers did not realize the car Lamons was driving was stolen until after the incident was over, police said.

Mills is on paid leave while the Florida Department of Law Enforcement investigates the shooting.
