POLK COUNTY, Fla. — Deputies in Polk County said two people are in the hospital after an overnight shootout on Interstate 4.
The highway was shut down for hours Friday morning as a result of the shooting.
Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd said the shooters were in different gangs.
“The Thug riders decided they would pass the Sin City riders, and that didn’t work so well,” Judd said. “You had a rush of testosterone and a rush of idiocy.”
Judd said Cocoa resident Ronald Donovan is in custody after investigators said he fired first.
A woman who was on the back of his motorcycle was hit in the crossfire and is seriously hurt.
