“Whether you’re black, Chinese or whatever, I care about my people because my people have not been cared about by the oppressive state,” demonstrator Tyler Whyte said.
Proud Boys, Florida Patriots and other pro-Trump supporters also gathered to counter protest the planned anti-Trump rally.
“I’ve been seeing a lot of the violence going on in Portland against patriots and civilians just for existing and having a difference of opinion, and I’m kind of tired of it,” one demonstrator said. “I believe that everybody has a right to their opinion and everybody has a right to protest.”
Orlando police were on scene to monitor the situation.

It wasn’t the only demonstration that took place on Saturday.
Earlier in the day, dozens of people also hosted a protest inside The Florida Mall in light of the shooting death of a black man by an Orange County deputy in the mall parking lot last month.

Salaythis Melvin died after a deputy shot him while he was running away. Deputies said Melving had a gun, and that’s why they shot him.

Protestors walked around the food court and the mall, chanting Melvin’s name and calling for justice. Some of them also attended the rally at City Hall.
