LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. — Reedy Creek firefighters are expected vote on a new union contract Monday after negotiations with the board overseeing the Disney district.

The tentative deal ends four years of fighting between the then Reedy Creek Improvement District and the fire union.
It means more jobs and includes a raise.

Union officials said the deal will improve safety for the millions of people who come to Walt Disney World every year.
“I think that the steps you have taken in regards to public safety is certainly made everyone’s vacations and stays here much much safer and a much more enjoyable experience,” union president Jon Shirey said.

The deal would also allow the department to invest in new equipment.
