Sanford man arrested for fatally shooting man trying to evict him, injuring another

SANFORD, Fla. — Sanford police are investigating a shooting that left one man dead and another person seriously injured Thursday.

Officers said two men were shot around 11 a.m. at a home on Anderson Circle.

One victim was killed and the other was taken to a hospital in critical condition. Police later identified the victim who died as 38-year-old Cliff Perard.

The second victim, a male, was located in a yard across the street with apparent gunshot wounds. He was transported to the hospital for treatment.

The preliminary investigation shows that Perard was attempting to evict the suspect, 51-year-old Andre Crist, from the residence. An argument began in the backyard when Crist shot Perard and the second victim, according to police. Crist then fled on foot.

A warrant was issued for Crist for first-degree homicide and attempted homicide. He was located and taken into custody without incident shortly after

Police said the shooting appears to be an isolated incident.
