Boil water advisory issued for parts of Seminole County after water main break

WINTER PARK, Fla. — Seminole County issued a precautionary boil water advisory for some residents Sunday after a reported water main break.

Officials said the 6-inch water main break occurred around 10 a.m. near Howell Estates.

Due to the break, 64 service connections were affected and have been advised to boil water before use.

The homes impacted are between 1001 through 1066 on Manchester Circle and 1001 through 1006 on New Castle Court.

Officials said the affected system was repaired and flushed, and bacteriological samples have been taken as a precautionary measure.

“Precautionary Boil Water Advisory” tags were placed at affected locations, officials said.

Seminole County said all water used for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth or washing dishes should be boiled.

Water should reach a rolling boil of at least one minute and be allowed to cool before use.
