SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. — Channel 9 reporter Jeff Levkulich has obtained new documents from the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office, detailing its run-ins with former Seminole County Tax Collector Joel Greenberg over the years.

The latest run-in with deputies was March 2 after Greenberg violated the conditions of his bond in his federal case of stalking a political opponent and child sex trafficking.

According to the incident report, when deputies went to serve a warrant at his home on Henley Place in Heathrow on March 2, Greenberg refused to come out.

During negotiations over the phone, Greenberg made suicidal comments and, according to the deputy, stated at various times he would take pills, utilize firearms and that he had improvised explosive devices.

Eventually, Greenberg surrendered and was taken to jail.

The records also detail a “suspicious encounter” in October 2020 when Greenberg allegedly approached the husband of Lynn Moira and encouraged her to defeat the other candidate for Seminole County tax collector, the report states.

The documents also detail a domestic disturbance from November 2020 between Greenberg and his wife Abby.
