WATCH: Sanford homeowner films black bear getting snack from garage fridge

SANFORD, Fla. — A Sanford homeowner got a surprise when he walked into his garage on Saturday night and found a black bear going through his refrigerator.

Jason Mickel and his wife, Laura, were alerted by a neighbor around 7 p.m. that they had a bear in their garage.

“And the neighbor across the street came in and said, ‘You have a bear in your garage,’ which was not surprising because I’ve told my husband several times to keep the door closed,” said Laura.

While Laura went to the front yard, Jason went into the garage with his cellphone ready and recording.

“Going through my fridge, I see, aren’t you?,” Jason said to the feasting bear. “You going to take all my food?”

The bear went through both refrigerators, eating up about $60 worth of food and even going back for seconds.
