Seminole County democratic office vandalized with anti-Semitic graffiti over weekend

SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. — Longwood police are investigating after the Seminole County Democratic Party office was vandalized over the weekend with an anti-Semitic word and a message calling the political committee “fascists.”

The vandalism was discovered by volunteers who arrived at the office on Sunday.

According to a news release, a Seminole County Republican Party banner was hung in front of the office and used to write the word “Nazi” on the front side, while the backside was plastered with a “Free Palestine” message.

“I do not think it is a coincidence that the word NAZI was scrawled on the banner, considering that the chair and vice chair of the SemDems are both Jewish,” said Lynn Moira Dictor, chair of the organization. “Antisemitism is unacceptable in any form.”

“The attack on our office is eerily alike to the one at the local GOP several weeks ago,” added Dictor.

Nearly a month ago, the Seminole County Republican headquarters was defaced with similar slurs.

During Saturday’s vandalism, the Democratic Party’s office was painted with the messages “UR fascists too” and “End Both Parties,” along with the same anarchy symbol found at the Republican committee.

The front door lock was also damaged with glue.

“Vandalizing our SemDems office, where we are trying to protect democracy for all citizens, regardless of religion, race, or country of origin, is reprehensible,” Dictor concluded.
