Seminole County School District offers teachers workplace options for new school year

SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. — The Seminole County School District is giving teachers workplace options to choose from for the new school year.

According to an email, teachers can request a workplace accommodation.

Teachers can choose to come back to the classroom for face-to-face instruction with their students or they can teach through the online learning program, Seminole Connect.

There is no guarantee that teachers will be given their preference

A district spokesperson said they plan to accommodate as many teachers as possible but it depends on what parents select for their child’s instructional option.

SCPS employees will be asked to elect accommodations for one of the following three reasons:

ADA accommodations, for serious health condition or if they have a household member that may be susceptible to COVID-19.
