SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. — Two suspects accused of stealing jewelry and family heirlooms from cemetery niches across multiple states are scheduled to make their first appearances Tuesday in Seminole County court.
Angela A. Garrett, 52, and Drake Lee Milam, 33, were held at the Seminole County Jail on Monday. They face multiple charges, such as damaging or removing a tomb or monument, tampering with grave contents, grand theft, and dealing in stolen property.
The arrests follow an August investigation by the Orange County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies said Garrett, Milam, and Milam’s girlfriend, Porsche Bancroft, targeted cemetery niches with cremated remains and stole valuables left by loved ones.
Investigators said the trio was connected to at least 20 cases across nine states, involving more than $35,000 in stolen property.
Garrett and Milam were arrested in Indiana, while Bancroft surrendered at the Seminole County Jail, officials said.
Their first appearances are scheduled for Tuesday. Channel 9 crews will be at the courthouse and provide updates as new information becomes available.
The investigation remains ongoing.
