Serial flasher on the loose in Clermont, police say

CLERMONT, Fla. — Clermont police are searching for a man accused of flashing two women near popular stores, investigators said.

The first incident happened Saturday at 4:10 p.m. at the Publix at 250 Citrus Tower Blvd., in Clermont.

A woman said she was loading groceries into her vehicle when a man asked for directions.

When she looked at him, he was exposing his genitals, police said.

She said she quickly looked away, so she didn’t get a description of him, investigators said.

She did see that he drove away in a silver Hyundai two-door car with a Florida license plate, police said.

A short time later, a woman shopping at BJ’s at 2577 U.S. Highway 27 in Clermont, said she was loading groceries when a man exposed his penis, police said.

The man was also driving a silver Hyundai two-door car with a Florida license plate.

The woman described the man as white, in his 30s with black hair and a possible piercing, police said.

Clermont resident Laura Pratesi said she couldn't imagine how she would react if she had been one of the victims.

"I would be shocked and pretty disgusted," she said. "And I don't know why anybody would do something like that."

Steve Jaffe hoped police would get the man off the street so he couldn't victimize anyone else.

"I think it's absolutely disgusting and I hope they catch the guy," he said.
