ORLANDO, Fla. — A small plane went down in Lake Orlando on Sunday morning as the pilot made a radio call for help, according to the Orlando Police Department.
Police said pilot was the only occupant of the plane and wasn't injured in the incident.
The pilot told investigators that he was heading back to his hangar around 10:30 a.m. when the plane's engine lost power and he was forced to make an emergency landing on the lake.

The pilot took aim for an abandoned golf course but came up a little short.
"He noticed there was an issue and realized he had to bring the plane down," Orlando Fire Department District Chief Jeff Day said. "To walk away from that is pretty fortunate."
Orlando firefighters worked to contain leaking fuel and remove the plane from the lake.
The Federal Aviation Administration is expected to release a report on the incident.
Lake Orlando is near the intersection of John Young Parkway and Orange Blossom Trail.
