Son of Ormond Beach legislator found dead

ORMOND BEACH, Fla. — The 26-year-old son of Republican State Rep. Dave Hood was found floating in a neighbor's swimming pool in Ormond Beach.
 
Police spokesman Keith Walker says the person who found Clay Hood called 911 on Thursday morning. Police and fire crews say he was already dead when they arrived.
 
Dave Hood, a former Ormond Beach mayor, told the Daytona Beach News-Journal he didn't know what happened, only that his son had died. Hood says his family is devastated by the death.
 
The neighbor told police that Clay Hood had visited on Wednesday night and that he found him in the pool when he woke up on Thursday morning.
