Southern Poverty Law Center sues OCPS over controversial land sale

The Southern Poverty Law Center has sued the School Board of Orange County over a proposed controversial land sale in the town of Eatonville.

Lawyers from the Alabama-based civil rights organization are suing the board on behalf of the Association to Preserve the Eatonville Community over a proposed sale of roughly 100 acres in the Black-led municipality.

The lawsuit was filed March 24 in Orange County Circuit Court.
