LADY LAKE, Fla. — The Town of Lady Lake has received $1 million in state funding to support the next phase of improvements to its Water Reclamation Facility.

The appropriation will help fund engineering and permitting for Phase III of the expansion.

The project calls for increasing the facility’s treatment capacity to 3 million gallons per day, adding advanced wastewater treatment and expanding Lady Lake’s reclaimed water capabilities.

Town officials said the improvements would address existing capacity constraints, improve nutrient removal and prepare the wastewater system for future residential and commercial development.

The funding was secured with support from state Rep. Nan Cobb and state Sen. Keith Truenow. Cobb presented the check to Mayor Ed Freeman and Public Works Director C.T. Eagle during Monday’s Town Commission meeting.

“This funding allows us to continue planning responsibly for the growth we know is coming,” Town Manager Bill Lawrence said.

The money will pay for engineering drawings, technical specifications and permit applications needed before construction can begin.

Construction is tentatively expected to start in July 2027, with completion projected for late 2029.
