NEW SMYRNA BEACH, Fla. — A surfer was bitten by a shark in New Smyrna Beach near the jetty about noon Sunday, officials said.
The man was bitten on the foot, but refused an ambulance ride to the hospital.

Officials said the injuries are minor.
His name has not been released.
The attack marks the eighth reported shark bite this year.
