Surveillance shows armed men rob Winter Park Publix

WINTER PARK, Fla. — Investigators are trying to track down two armed men who robbed a Publix grocery store shortly before it closed for the night on Friday.

Surveillance video shows the two men storming into the Aloma Avenue store in Winter Park, waving guns and pointing them at workers.

Authorities said the robbery happened shortly before the store closed while customers were still inside.

Police said the armed men demanded money from employees and then fled the store.

"Don't know how that happened, but I'm certainly alarmed," said Winter Park resident Don Hawkins.

Some customers said it the robbery wouldn't keep them away from the store.

"I've been here living in Winter Park for the past 14 years.  I believe crime is going to happen anywhere you live," said customer Francis Soto. "It's not going to stop me from shopping."

Winter Park police believe the robbery could be linked to an April holdup at a Lake Mary Publix.

Anyone with information is asked to contact authorities.
