, Fla. — A 53-year-old Tampa woman has died after being struck by a car while crossing U.S. 41, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Troopers said the collision happened around 9:30 p.m. Monday near West 122nd Avenue in Hillsborough County.

A 37-year-old Dade City man was driving a Lexus sedan south on U.S. 41 when the woman attempted to cross the highway and entered the vehicle’s path, according to FHP.

The woman was transported to an area hospital with serious injuries. FHP said she died Tuesday.

Troopers have not released the woman’s name or announced any charges.
