Temperatures soar, scattered afternoon storms return

ORLANDO, Fla. — Tuesday will be even hotter. Temperatures will soar to 95 degrees in Orlando.

The heat index will be around 100 to 105 degrees.

We will have a 40% chance of scattered afternoon storms.

Later this week, the rain chance goes up.

We will have more afternoon storms from Thursday into the weekend.

In the tropics, one weak disturbance in the northern Gulf is drifting away from Florida. It remains off the coast of Louisiana. It will be a rainmaker for them.

Otherwise, the tropics remain relatively quiet.
