Town hall meeting set to address fights, shooting at Orlando middle school

ORLANDO, Fla. — Fights and a shooting outside an Orlando middle school have an Orange County School Board member taking action to bring the community together.

Board member Vicki Felder has scheduled a town hall meeting for Monday at 6:30 p.m. at Carver Middle School. She wants parents and people who live in the community to show up.

Police and community leaders will be here as they try to address what can be done to deal with the increase in violence.

Felder has some ideas she wants to share, including what she calls “Dads on Duty,” which will utilize involved dads on campus after school to keep an eye on things and make sure the students are in line.
