ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — Residents of the Tymber Skan apartment complex are divided over Orange County’s plans for the property.
People who live at the complex had a chance to speak Wednesday night about its future and weigh in on a proposal that could lead to the demolition of the remaining buildings.
Orange County leaders voted last month to move forward with a plan to demolish the remaining structures, sell the property and relocate current residents.
The process would also allow the county to sell the complex without the consent of the property owners.
However, residents are split over the proposal.
While some support the county’s plans, others have concerns about what the demolition and relocation process could mean for them and their community.
County officials are expected to take up the issue again and vote on the proposal Aug. 25.
Until then, residents are waiting to see what happens next for the complex and those who call it home.
