VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. — If you have plans to head to the beach this week ahead of Memorial Day, remember to swim near a lifeguard.

Volusia County Beach Safety said it rescued 73 people from the water Sunday and 36 people on Saturday.

Crews said a few people were taken to the hospital for exhaustion or swallowing water.
Along with the hazardous rip currents, lifeguards have reported a lot of jellyfish along the shore.
