Arrest made after home inspection company finds dead dogs in Central Florida home

EDGEWATER, Fla. — An Edgewater man is behind bars after a home inspection company found dead dogs at his home.

Investigators said the inspection company contacted Edgewater police after they found deplorable conditions and located what appeared to be several deceased animals and a dog in need of emergency medical care.

Police said their initial investigation confirmed three deceased dogs inside the residence.

Edgewater Animal Shelter staff removed the fourth dog from the residence for treatment; however, the dog died shortly after receiving medical assistance.

Police arrested the homeowner and owner of the dogs, William Demchick, and charged him with four counts of felony animal cruelty.
