VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. — A 23-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a 2025 crash that killed a 68-year-old driver in Ormond Beach, police said.
Francisco Guzman-Rivera was arrested on Wednesday, Sept. 24, after the Ormond Beach Police Department obtained an arrest warrant in the Aug. 8, 2025, crash at East Granada Boulevard and Vining Court.
Guzman-Rivera faces charges of driving under the influence resulting in death, vehicular homicide and possession of cannabis of 20 grams or less, according to police.
Police said Guzman-Rivera was driving a 2012 Ford Mustang east on Granada Boulevard around 9 p.m. when it collided with a 2021 Toyota RAV4 driven by Paul Monroe Booker.
Investigators said Booker, 68, was turning left from Vining Court onto Granada Boulevard when the crash happened. Both drivers were taken to the hospital as trauma alerts, and Booker later died from his injuries.
Police initially said speed and alcohol were suspected factors in the crash.
